 “Corn is what connects us. All our food connects us: we are made from corn. We are the Corn people. We are made of corn.”

I try to go back at least four generations in all that I sow. That way I know that I have a true seed, a pure seed. I don’t need any scientist to tell me that. I don’t want any scientist to tell me that. That should already form part of our knowledge and it is something that we should all be talking about.
Angela Ferguson is one of the key figures who, along with the support of Onondaga Nation, drove forward this programme of food sovereignty. In 2015, 10 people were able to produced enough food to feed 1600 people, in a 2000-strong community.
